i never imagined
losing a girlfriend
could be so painful.
i miss the long emails
the midnight phone calls
laughing at our jokes
even if they weren't funny,
watching movies,
playing games,
reading the same books,
sharing our music.
i felt the end nearing,
even the slight change in
your voice on the phone
told me it was going to end.
why must things change?
life is so short, yet
without you in it,
it seems forever long.

That was nice - I like the bit about the voice changing!
So true - it happens so quick. Great poem.
Wonderful poem. Sometimes I think the end of a friendship is harder than the ending of romance
And I hate it when I find myself with that slight change in my voice--but I have and my voice is a give away
:(
There is no easy way to get over the loss of someone - and that end is a loss.
That's lovely -- life is so short -- you are right!
Nice post! Ah, yes, life is very short - there's hardly time to waste in feeling sad... Nicely done!
i do hate the feeling of walking on the eggshells of a relationships demise...
You captured the feeling of a dying friendship perfectly!
that was really sad and to loose someone so dear...oh! You did this so well...
the sign of a changing voice...even the slightest change is vivid & pricky....So true! Nice poem.
I think we can all relate at some point to this. I hate the fact that we can be so intimate with someone and then when the romance is over, lives are blocked from each other. You lose your best friend. This was well done.
End of a friendship is very painful. I have been through it. Your poem depicts that feeling very well.
questions are like whirlwinds with no answers
Such a sad and hopeless feeling to lose someone you were once so close with. Seasons of our lives constantly changing, and growing
beautiful... friendship is everything...
