Read, Write Poem prompt

An Ode To Hands

big, small
old, young.
each one
has a story
to tell.
they flit
and they flutter,
they talk,
with no words.
lined with
every passing
year, each hand
can a speak a
million voices.
hard and callused
they tell the tale...
of a hard days work.
soft and smooth...
they show the many
pampered days.
each finger has
something to say.
whether ringed,
or tattooed,
painted, or chewed.
through the touch
of a hand, one can
tell a true loves heart.
hands, soft, familiar,
beautiful hands.

beautiful. i think hands and eyes are the most expressive parts of our bodies..."through the touch of a hand, one can tell a true loves heart." - what a true and tender moment captured perfectly by your words. well done!

It is good to love our hands. They're quite important.

Beautiful descriptions! Hands are so evocative and you did a great job at capturing this aspect of them.

The whole while I kept imagining hands gesturing-maybe the short lines added movement to the poem! Nice work.

Hand on heart, there's more than a word of wisdom here - don't hands flirt too? Or is that just me?

flirting and hands go hand in hand.

I almost wrote about hands, and you said so many of the things I wanted to about the stories our hands tell about us. This is beautiful!
