Poefusion prompt monday mural

the perfect child

i thought if we planted
an extra special seed and
watered it and grew it
up right, we'd make the
perfect girl, but instead
we just got a kid made of
old rotten wood, with lots
of imperfections and a
pretty little dress. just
the shade of an old
umbrella with only a
squawking crow to keep
her company.

Thought-provoking. And how sad that some children are born into families like this. We have to be vigilant as parents not to expect out children to conform to all of our expectations.

Children can be a handful if not guided properly. I think its sad that most parents just let the child find his/ her way alone. When someone decides to be a parent they should see it through to the end, regardless. Thanks for sharing such a thought provoking poem. Have a nice night.

Incredible sadness in this one.

Unfortunately, as a teacher, I have seen just too many students like this!

My son has finally made it to adulthood and turned out fine, but all the while this was my secret fear, that regardless of any hopes I had, he could turn out to be anything but what I wished for him...but then again, we each have to find our own way - and ourselves. Hopefully it is the person our parents can be proud of.
